Revelation Revisited © 2013
If so, you must believe that a very trying time is ahead of us. The books of Matthew, Daniel and Revelation both give a stark warning… A great time of trouble is coming upon the world before Jesus returns.
While the passages quoted above refer to that time, Revelation shows it to us in much more detail in the stories of the Seals, Trumpets and Plagues.
As Bible-believing Christians we feel that we must pay heed to the warnings that Jesus has so graciously given us.
“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” - Jesus
“There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.” - Daniel
The Seals, The Early Time of Trouble. Initiated by a new Pentecost that swells the Gospel call, this time period is marked by a dramatic upswing of warfare, famine and disease. No part of the world - no nation on earth - will be untouched. All will sense that the world is hurdling toward a historic climax.
The Trumpets, The Wrath Begins. “Acts of God” dominate this period, as the fragile ecosystem of the earth suffers successive blows. Extinction-level events drive each person to choose to trust in God alone - or in the demonically instigated “Babylon” that will arise at that time.
The Plagues, God’s People Saved. God comes to the rescue of His faithful followers by dismantling the powerful alliance that opposes them. Like the Tower of Babel, built to provide the human race with a way to save themselves, this new alliance is shown to be powerless before the Almighty God.
